IC packaging is at risk within 24 hours of leaving the moisture barrier bags (MBBs). They continuously absorb moisture from the humidity in the air, which leads to microcracks during reflow heating.

Our solutions offer optimum, extremely low-moisture and moisture-proof storage for IC housings. They continuously absorb moisture from the humidity in the air, which leads to microcracks during reflow heating. Moisture-sensitive components have an unlimited service life, and microcracks or popcorning during the reflow process are not an issue.

We have collected various data with different conditions to check the quality of our system. Our powerful Zeoluite allows you to interact every 10 minutes with an opening time of 2 minutes.

McDry is your path to just-in-time production.

Storage of sensitive surface-mounted components at low humidity in accordance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033D. To avoid microcracks, ICs and LEDs containing moisture can be baked or stored in McDry.

Electrostatic discharges destroy electronic devices. To prevent this, antistatic measures are applied to Mcdry and McDRY in accordance with IEC61340-5-1.

Mcdry is recommended for the storage of IC packaging after opening bags with a moisture barrier. As specified by IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033D.

McDry Service & Maintenance

Service & Maintenance Comparison

McDry is designed not only for stable ultra-low humidity storage, but also for easy calibration, service-friendly construction and low long-term maintenance effort.

Feature McDry Typical Alternatives
Delivery time Selected models and options are available from stock for European customers. Delivery time depends on manufacturer, model, configuration and regional availability.
Warranty Generally 2-year product warranty from the SSG shipment date. Warranty conditions vary depending on supplier, region and product.
Humidity meter calibration The humidity meter is removable and can be calibrated or replaced separately. In some systems, an integrated humidity meter may require more service effort.
Dry unit The dry unit is service-friendly and can be removed if service or replacement is required. Serviceability depends strongly on the individual cabinet design.
Maintenance effort Minimal maintenance effort in standard operation through automatic zeolite regeneration. Maintenance requirements may vary depending on the drying system and cabinet structure.
Running cost No N₂ purge required in standard operation and low maintenance effort help support lower long-term costs. Long-term costs may be affected by maintenance, service work or gas consumption.
Downtime risk Service-friendly components can help reduce the risk of downtime. Downtime depends on spare parts, service access and regional support structure.
Component protection Stable ultra-low humidity storage can help reduce the risk of component loss, scrap and rework. Risk depends on humidity control, storage process and production environment.

Note: This comparison is based on general product and service characteristics. Features may vary depending on manufacturer, model, application and regional support structure.

Calibration of the hygrometer

How to calibrate

During the dry cabinets inspection of MSL components, only the humidity value of the hygrometer can be checked for the humidity value of 5%RH or less in the dry cabinets. Therefore, to confirm that the value of the hygrometer used is accurate, please, calibrate the hygrometer at a humidity value of 5 % RH. This is done approximately once a year.

How is calibration carried out?

The manufacturer also performs a calibration at a point humidity of 5%RH. While your hygrometer is being calibrated, we will support you with an alternative hygrometer so that you have no downtime.

A calibration certificate for the hygrometer is required, especially at the time of your audit. If you are a European or American company, we will also submit a calibration certificate in English.

Troubleshooting for McDry dry cabinets

Check the display on the front.
A green LED should be visible.

Incorrect voltage can cause damage,
which can lead to a non-functioning system.
Speak to your technical personnel.

Required voltage for our product range:
AC 230V 50/60 Hz

A power surge may have damaged your system. Try unplugging everything and restarting the system. After 5 minutes, the system should start running again and the humidity should drop continuously.

Both switches must be switched on. You will find them on the front of the device.

It is recommended to calibrate the moisture meter once a year.

A low battery will result in a flashing LED and the system may not work properly.

The average battery life is 1 year.

Check the seals, all sides of the appliance and all attached elements for damage indicating a malfunction.

McDry dry cabinet FAQ

Yes. Seika Sangyo GmbH keeps selected McDry dry cabinet models and optional parts in stock for customers in Europe.

For stock items, shorter delivery times may be available compared with made-to-order or special configurations. Actual delivery time depends on the model, quantity, options and shipping destination. Please contact us to check current stock availability and lead time.

McDry dry cabinets sold by Seika Sangyo GmbH are generally covered by a 2-year product warranty from the SSG shipment date.

McDry is designed for long-term use in production and storage environments, and SSG supports European customers with product information, spare parts and service coordination. Warranty conditions may vary depending on the product, usage, environment and individual case.

Yes. McDry ultra-low humidity dry cabinets are designed for stable long-term dry storage of moisture-sensitive electronic components, MSDs, IC packages, PCBs and reels.

All McDry models support ultra-low humidity storage down to ≤1%RH. This makes McDry especially suitable for applications where stable humidity control, long-term storage reliability and protection of sensitive materials are important.

McDry can help reduce the risk of component loss, scrap and rework caused by moisture-related problems.

Moisture-sensitive components such as IC packages, MSDs, PCBs and SMD reels require controlled dry storage to support stable production quality. By maintaining an ultra-low humidity environment, McDry helps protect valuable components during storage and supports better floor-life control in SMT and electronics production.

Yes. The McDry humidity meter can be removed from the cabinet, making calibration and replacement easier.

This removable design helps reduce service effort because the humidity meter can be handled separately without complicated work on the entire dry cabinet. Regular calibration is recommended to maintain reliable humidity monitoring, especially in quality-controlled production environments.

McDry is designed for minimal maintenance in standard operation.

The dry unit uses a zeolite absorbent system that automatically absorbs moisture and regenerates by heating. This means there is no frequent desiccant replacement in normal use. As a result, McDry can help reduce maintenance work, service cost and long-term running cost.

Although the initial investment may be higher than simple storage solutions, McDry is designed to reduce long-term ownership cost.

The cabinet does not require N₂ purge in standard operation, the humidity meter is removable for easy calibration, and the dry unit can be removed for service or replacement if needed. These features help reduce maintenance effort, service work, downtime risk and long-term running cost.

McDry can help reduce downtime risk through its simple and reliable dry unit design, removable humidity meter and long-term stable operation.

In production environments, unexpected cabinet downtime can affect component storage and workflow. McDry is designed to support continuous dry storage with low maintenance requirements. In addition, SSG can support European customers with spare parts, service information and technical assistance.

No. McDry does not require N₂ purge in standard operation.

McDry uses an electric dry unit with zeolite absorbent technology to create and maintain an ultra-low humidity environment. This helps reduce nitrogen consumption, gas supply requirements and running cost. For special applications, an optional N₂ purge connection can also be added.

McDry combines stable ultra-low humidity performance, ≤1%RH capability across all models, low running cost, minimal maintenance, no N₂ purge requirement in standard operation, removable humidity meter calibration, serviceable dry units, 2-year SSG warranty and European stock support for selected models.
