IC packages are compromised within 24 hours, after they left the Moisture barrier bags (MBBs). They continuously absorb moisture from the humidity in the air, resulting in micro-cracks during reflow heating.
Our solutions provide optimal ultra-low humidity and moisture-proof storage for IC packages. They continuously absorb moisture from the humidity in the air, resulting in micro-cracks during reflow heating. Moisture-sensitive components have an indefinite floor-life and micro-cracking or pop-corning during the reflow process is not an issue.
We gathered various Data with different conditions to verify the quality of our system. Our powerful Zeoluite enables you to interact every 10min for a 2min opening time.
McDry is your way to Just-in-time-Production.
Storage of sensitive surface-mounted components at low humidity in accordance with IPC/JEDEC J-STD-033D. To prevent micro-cracking, moisture containing IC's and LEDs can be baked or stored in McDry.
Electrostatic discharge destroys electronic devices. In order to prevent this, the antistatic measures are applied on Mcdry and McDRY complies with IEC61340-5-1.
How do Micro-Cracks happen?
ordinary storage
Water Vapor
Atmospherical moisture diffuses in the IC during storage.
reflow process
Moisture gathering, pressure increase
The interface between the die pad and resin is peeled by the water vapor pressure during reflow heating
reflow process
The package is blown by expanding moisture
Further heating causes the vapor to expand, stretching the package.
reflow process
The IC housing cracks.
The Packaging releases the water due to pressure, forcing cracks

Calibration of the hygrometer
Fine tuned quality
How to calibrate
In the dry box control of MSL components, only the humidity value of the hygrometer can be checked for the humidity value of 5%RH or less in the dry box. Therefore, in order to confirm that the value of the hygrometer in use is accurate, we ask that you calibrate the hygrometer at the point of 5%RH of the humidity. This happens roughly annually.
How to calibrate
The manufacture also performs a calibration at a point-humidity of 5%RH. While your hygrometer is being calibrated, we will support you with an alternative hygrometer, so you won't experience any downtime.
A calibration certificate for the hygrometer is especially required at the time of your audit. If you are a European or American company, we will also submit a calibration certificate in English.
Troubleshooting
Check Indicator at the front.
There should be a green LED visible.
Incorrect voltage can lead to damage,
which can lead to a non-functioning system.
Talk to your technical staff.
Required voltage for our product range:
AC 230V 50/60 Hz
A power surge may have damaged your system. Try unplugging everything and restarting the system. After 5 minutes, the system should start running again and the humidity should drop continuously.
Both switches must be switched on. You will find them on the front of the device.
It is recommended to calibrate the moisture meter once a year.
A low battery will result in a flashing LED and the system may not work properly.
The average battery life is 1 year.
Check the seals, all sides of the appliance and all attached elements for damage indicating a malfunction.
